Clean Up Week
Putting on bright high-visibility fluorescent vests and wandering out of school with all of Room 4 following behind me.
It was 9.00 and Room 4 had been geared up with gloves on and one plastic bag between two students.
We all cleaned the car park and up and down the roadsides. The girls thought the debris around Te Waotu was disgusting, but some boys used it as an advantage to tease the boys.
We walked and talked as we searched for litter. Time flew by and finally the gross debris discovering Friday morning was over.
“Yeah:, said some of the girls.

Clean up week
Glove on, bag in hand, time to clean up the place.
Last week was Clean Up Week and the whole school went out to clean up Te Waotu district.
Room 4 went to clean up the roadside. We picked up lots of rubbish and I mean lots. We picked up pants, road signs, glass and spare wheel covers.
We slowly walked down towards the lake and then towards the recycling bins, searching for and discovering smelly rubbish.
When we got back to school we washed our hands and had lunch.
What a morning!
